Poet Of The Week

Emancipate Me

Emancipate me,
not some, but all of me
Empower me to soar,
to reach higher and then again for more

Is there nothing worse than, no will to explore
Often in my place of employment

Searching for a sense of enjoyment
A voice echoes and says enter here

A sign “at your own risk” does appear

Deep in the region of reason, emotion does say
Right now, elect to come this way
But I’m entangled in explanations and accounts

So the promise of ecstasy and euphoria amounts To nothing

Under embers of frustration and pain

Heart, mind and soul struggle to remain, connected

With each passing day my essence dies

These peaceful eyes do indeed belie; a war

One between emperors evil and good

Elaborate schemes of shouldn’t and should, to stifle

But I embrace an enlarged existence

Not one met with your walls of resistance, to be

Emboldened with Godly edict,

right on the verge

Of eliminating elements sent here to purge

The true me, from me,
I entrust
Divine discernment
of what I should and must
Alas,

exuberance fills the land

From even those who called me extreme
It seems they’ve been given keys to dream,
impossible dreams

So step one on the expedition to seize the enigmatic key

Stand up and explode

Emancipate me
