I feel for Barry. This cat stands on his own. The media has been crucifying him for years. An athlete as accomplished as is Tiger Woods, Barry Bonds has endured a storm of cynicism, scorn and hypocrisy for years.

NEW YORK (May 28) - As Barry Bonds nears his record 756th home run, he's stockpiling quite a collection of souvenirs - bats, balls, helmets and spikes, pieces of baseball history perfectly suited for the Hall of Fame.
Whether he'll donate any of them to Cooperstown, however, is in doubt.
"I'm not worried about the Hall," the San Francisco slugger said during a recent homer drought. "I take care of me."

Barry's just trying to come up since he had to give half to Mrs. Bonds after their somewhat recent divorce.
Barry had to give up more than half after it was all said and done. As far as the Hall is concerned, if Barry doesn't want to give up his memorabilia fine. The commisioner is acting like he won't be there when he breaks the records and Hammerin' Hank has already said he won't be there. Barry's pompous and arrogant, but most hall of fame caliber players are, the difference is that Barry's a Black man who has refused to kiss the mostly white media's ass for his entire career and it kills them.
Last year Roger Clemens while playing for the Houston Astros never traveled with the team and only showed up on his day to pitch. His reasoning, he wanted to spend more time with his family, like the rest of the team had no children. But that fact rarely got reported. But Barry having a recliner in the locker room next to his locker is going to upset team unity?
Again, Roger Clemens is a man approaching his mid 40's who is still pitching like he was in his mid 20's yet a majority of the media refuses to take the inductive leap that they're all to happy to with Barry that he's using something. The 4th Estate sucks.
I've never been a fan of Bonds. Dodgers fool!
