Helen Thomas Is The Blackest Woman On The Planet - The Truth Will Set You Free - Unless You Say Something The Israel Lobby Doesn't Like

Asked if she had any comments to make about Israel.

"Tell them to get the hell out of Palestine... Remember, these people are occupied, and it's their land; its not German, its not Poland's." Asked where they should go, she said "they should go home" to "Poland, Germany... America and everywhere else."

Crazy that sista had to RETIRE in shame just for speaking up against Israel. Ridiculous that the White House press secretary had comments to distance the administration from her (why???) No room for honest discussion.

But, consider...the reaction to Thomas is just as telling about America’s culturally protected classes, liberal guilt and post-WWII history (and a little CYA) as it is about assumed support of terrorist Israel.

This is similar to what happens when people wonder out loud if the Women’s movement hurts families...or like the gasps of “racism” you hear when Affirmative Action is questioned...similar to the backlash cultural conservatives get when they question the right of two dudes to live in holy matrimony. There are groups in this country that have become sacred. Furthermore, there has become an accepted way to think about them. Those whose “dominant” mores you can’t question (Jews, Women’s rights supporters, to some extent Blacks, and now Gays) are “protected classes". Even offering rigorous critique in the interest of a stronger society brings up guilt and shame because of our awful history and because the critiques are contrary to the paradigms for thought that emerged.

When, after WWII & the mass extermination, the US, Allies, etc. committed to the idea that Jews should have their own homeland, it was pretty much a closed case in the West. Our gov’t was dedicated to righting the Nazi wrong in the way they saw best. In our gov’t’s mind, not fixing Hitler’s wrongs would have been of the greatest neglects in human history...partially out of the guilt associated with the “Negro Problem” of the time. Dealing with the Jews was a twisted way to absolve the US of dealing with the real racial issue at home. As a result of the war and dedication to the Jewish homeland, speaking a counter-opinion related to that homeland required EXTREME care. When Thomas expressed her valid opinion (held by more people on this planet than the opposite), she failed to use that sensitivity.

Actually, now, to an extent, you can discuss Israel’s abuses and question their claim to the land if you do it in an intellectually rigorous and thoughtful way...you've seen president’s and intellectuals hack at it. Unfortunately for Thomas, she didn't show the requisite class and care with her candor.

Truth hurts! The way she wasn't scared to really question Presidents Bush and Obama in regards to this so-called "War on Terror" will truly be missed and is sorely needed...when she asked Obama at his first inaugural address about when he would bring the troops out of Afghanistan, she said, "...and don't give us any Bushisms about 'if we don't go to them there, they'll come to us here..."...classic. I think her "apology" for her remarks was forced upon her, and I wouldn't be surprised if it was from the same Pro-Zionist lobbyists and sympathizers who support the biggest terrorist country on the planet...Israel.

In "keeping in touch with the enemy", I have been reading Caroline Glick's blog as well...hundreds of negative comments regarding Thomas, all moderated by Glick herself of course. The same woman who called Chicago's Hyde Park an "anti-Israeli bunker or stronghold," as if it held any resemblance whatsoever to Gaza or the West Bank under the nation's control she holds so dear in the first place.

Too bad young journalist these days are scared to do their job...and report the truth.

Oops...should read Israel is the biggest terrorist state on the planet, not country. And of course not all Israelis are Zionists...just like not all Jews are Zionists.

I was wondering when you would find this. I was having an argument with a cat the other day about these comments and the reaction.

Man. I've noticed that too.

It seemed as if the media's reporting on this issue had one agenda: PUNISH THOSE WHO CHALLENGE JEW MEMES.

The content of her message received NO discourse.

Whether it was true or not wasn't even considered.

All that mattered was that it OFFENDED the chosen and punishment must be swift.

This is an exercise in predictive programming.

They are warning all Plantation Negros and Plantation Crackas dependent on the Plantation that they will not eat ... if they step out of line.

An argument Big Man?

What was the issue of the debate?

Maybe it's just me...but "requisite class and care with (her) candor" is out the window when sh!t like in that video happens. But hey, that was four years ago. As of today, Israel IS for the kids...and the sarcasm is killing me inside:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/howard-schweber/israels-blockade-of-gaza_b_605780.html

"Today's AP wire has a story about the Israeli government easing the blockade of Gaza in response to international criticism. The newly permitted items: soda, juice, jam, spices, shaving cream, potato chips, cookies and candy.

Soda, juice, jam, spices, shaving cream, potato chips, cookies and candy. Undoubtedly because of their dual use potential as military weapons. (Well, if you shake a bottle of soda really hard...) I cannot help wondering which particular segment of the population of Gaza was being targeted by the exclusion of cookies and candy." -Howard Schweber

WTF???!!!

I'm not sure what kind of punishment one should get for calling for the dissolution of the only Jewish state, but ole dude lost MILLIONS for highlighting the black "butch" in "women's" college basketball???

Then again, Thomas may have decided to retire a liberal martyr???

Denmark Vesey said...

TD!

Where you been Bra?

These squares had me surrounded?

Jewish state?

Where?

Who?

Dissolution of the Likudist state.

What black "butch" in basketball you talking about?

I argued, as I will be posting on my blog soon, that her comments while naive, came from a place of truth.

The modern problems began with the governments of the world deciding to take land from some folks and give it to another. It was a sanctioned strong arm robbery.

I call her comments naive because these Jewish folks have been on that land for years, and they are not just giving it back and going home. Thus saying "Go Home" is a tad idiotic. It's like telling your wife "Just act right." Any married person knows that ain't gonna cut it most of the time. A little for finesse and discretion is necessary.

I felt like this chick's comments not malicious, nor evil, nor heinous. They weren't particularly insightful, but I thought the reaction to them was ridiculous as everybody piled on her.

Moreover, I plan to compare the reaction to her comments about the reaction to comments about black folks, or even worse, the treatment and comments about Native Americans and wonder at the stark difference.

I was telling my homie that what happened to the Jews, while horrible, was by no means unique, and therefore there should not be unique rules of engagement for discussing that situation and their current behavior.

Good stuff Big Man.

DV,

In a radically autonomizing environment the enemy of my enemy prolly really isn't my friend.

If chick bowed to the pressure. She bowed to the pressure.

If she's trying to go out like a martyr THEN HER MESSAGE was clear...

The dissolution of the state called Israel.

Now, if that's NOT REALLY WHAT SHE MEANT...

Then she said nothing important at all and her bow down is totally inexplicable...

Remember Imus...

Dude lost so much more for speaking bluntly about the state of female athletics.

Big Man said...

Calling women "nappy headed hoes" was speaking about the state of female athletics?

The phrase "nappy headed hoes" in no way related to the masculinity of the female athletes, which was the topic Imus broached so poorly.

Instead, he had a massive brain fart, where he tried to get cute, and he got smacked down. He wasn't ambushed by someone and asked a question, he just volunteered some nonsense that he thought was funny.

Denmark Vesey said...

Did he actually call"women" as in "womankind" "nappy headed hoes"?

Isn't that like saying Biggie called "women" Bitches when he made that song "Me and my bitch"?

I've heard black comedians say much much much worse than that.

The over-the-top 'most offensive thing ever' reaction from the Media / Negro establishment was far more insulting than what Imus said.

(None of us would have ever known. Now those poor girls must spend the rest of their lives known as "one of the girls on that team Imus called "Nappy Headed Ho's")

Smacked down?

Was he?

Seems to be doing fine to me.

Negros must stop letting these 3rd party crackas run their political / media strategy for them.

It makes Negros look ridiculous, overly sensitive, weak and impotent.
