I don't have the particulars but Pac exchanged fire with and shot a cop in ATL back in 94/95 behind the same kinda bullshit and got off.

I'll add that when I see the juxtaposition of Harold Ford Jr and a street wise gentlman, and I'm asked who is more intelligent, this story is a prime example.
I submit that the cat who can spit off the pythagorean theorem and other determinants of secondary public education watches these women get manhandled and takes footage with their hand held devices. The street wise gentleman who is mean with fractions, a scale and a .45, pulls out that .45 and gets the drop on this cop with bad intentions rather than pulling out his phone.
If he chooses to put a hole in the cop the standard issue vehicle will probably be torched along with any surveillance equipment that could finger the so called perp.
That may not save him but I'd call that man a model global citizen and a modern day hero.

Damn, I think that would have been stupid. A man could intevene without killing anybody, that's taking it to a whole 'nother level that's almost guaranteeing that you become a long-term member of the new plantation system.
It's is very, VERY rare that anybody bombs on a cop and doesn't get caught. They are very efficient at rounding up cop killers.
I say, that as a black man, you should have attempted to defuse this situation, just like you should attempt to defuse any situation where a man is putting his hands on a woman. That means calming the woman and the cop.
It wasn't a few months ago where DV blamed Skip Gates' arrest on his inability to maintain a calm demeanor while dealing with the police, and used an anecdote about his own encounter with a police officer at an airport as an example of the proper demeanor. I don't think anybody watching that tape can honestly say these women behaved in a calm and rational fashion.
Wasn't a few weeks ago when DV posted a video of a Romanian chick getting sucker punched by a cop, and said she was a "bitch" who got what she deserved?

An astute street wise brotha with a mean .45 game would flesh wound the cop, maybe knee cap him or one in the thigh only if the drop didn't calm his ass the F down. He'd be aware of cop killing consequences and avoid that kinda heat but still educate the man.
This exchange for J walking is unacceptable and should be treated as such.
Slamming this woman up against the car repeatedly rather than cuffing her quickly shows this cat has no business on the street in the first place. Had he not abused the woman the female cousin would not have reacted the way she did.

And if the brotha winds up doing time, then the cop wins. Niggas in jail = win for the cops.
I respect what you're saying, but there has to be a streetwise solution that doesn't wind up with another black dude doing serious time, and I don't see anybody avoiding time if they shoot a cop. I've seen numerous cop shootings, and an arrest is ALWAYS made.

You will always lose when you try to beat the rap on the street. Cops win, you lose, always. The place to fight this is in court. People get their panty egos all bunched up and think they got to show the cop up in the street. I think everyone is seriously lucky this didn't escalate into something much worse. As it is she's got a fat lip AND I'll guess she's not going to beat the resisting arrest charge.
Big Man I agree, If these men had jumped in on that cop there would have been bloodshed, not just there, but throughout the city. Clearly, this babylon had no skills martial skills. Clearly, he was looking to draw blood and could have been hoping to encite a fight with the guys around by attempting to physically manage a 19 year old female. The fight should be in the court room.
There is a time to act and a time to react.

I don't have a problem with the way that the guys in the video handled themselves. They spoke up about hitting her and videotaped it but sometimes you have to know when to hold back. It would not have ended in their favor had they tried to jump in (particularly if they jump in unarmed or only willing to flesh wound the cop).
