You Don't Have To Be A Rocket Scientist II Origin of AIDS: Official Conspiracy Theory vs. Unofficial Conspiracy Theory

Although they may question when and how, most scientists accept that HIV developed in humans after the simian immunodeficiency virus (SIV) jumped from chimpanzee to people.

The Official Conspiracy Theory suggests that the virus jumped species through the hunting and handling of chimpanzees—the 'natural transfer' or 'cut hunter' theory. The hunter shoots or stabs a chimp and is exposed to the virus either through handling its blood or eating it. (Am I right so far Plantation Negros? Where's Undercover Blackman when you need him? Good.)

The Unofficial Conspiracy Theory suggests the chimp virus SIV jumped from chimpanzees to man when millions of African people in the Democratic Republic of The Congo were inoculated with an experimental version of an oral polio vaccine OPV, manufactured with a virus taken from chimpanzee kidneys, between 1956 and 1960.
  1. Africans have been eating chimps (bushmeat) for thousands of years.
  2. The first known case of HIV was detected in the Democratic Repbulic of The Congo in 1959.
Which theory makes more sense?

That's an interesting new theory. I was never convinced on the "cut hunter" thing anyway. I don't know if your theory is right, but it's definitely food for thought.

Folks have too much faith in other people. I'm convinced that humans are capable of anything, including creating and spreading the HIV virus.
