Cairo is buzzing over today's visit and speech.

Workers are all over the place cleaning up whole blocks and apparently Cairo University has been getting a facelift for the past week.

My driver is strategizing how to get to my cousin's house in what will be worse than the usual heinous traffic since some of the major thoroughfares will be shut down.

I suspect we will all be glued to the TV once the speech begins.

"Around the world, the Jewish people were persecuted for centuries, and anti-Semitism in Europe culminated in an unprecedented Holocaust. Tomorrow, I will visit Buchenwald, which was part of a network of camps where Jews were enslaved, tortured, shot and gassed to death by the Third Reich. Six million Jews were killed more than the entire Jewish population of Israel today. Denying that fact is baseless, ignorant, and hateful. Threatening Israel with destruction or repeating vile stereotypes about Jews is deeply wrong, and only serves to evoke in the minds of Israelis this most painful of memories while preventing the peace that the people of this region deserve." - B. Hussein Obama

"An unprecedented Holocaust." And he calls himself "a student of history." (LOL)

"On the other hand, it is also undeniable that the Palestinian people, Muslims and Christians, have suffered in pursuit of a homeland. For more than 60 years they have endured the pain of dislocation. Many wait in refugee camps in the West Bank, Gaza, and neighbouring lands for a life of peace and security that they have never been able to lead. They endure the daily humiliations large and small that come with occupation. So let there be no doubt: the situation for the Palestinian people is intolerable. America will not turn our backs on the legitimate Palestinian aspiration for dignity, opportunity, and a state of their own." B. Hussein Obama

"In pursuit of a homeland." Didn't the Palestinians have a homeland which was stolen?

"A state of their own" where? On the West Bank in the midst of Israeli reservations?

"Resistance through violence and killing is wrong and does not succeed," but "We (Americans) were born out of revolution against an empire." A violent revolution was right and successful for America, but it is wrong for everyone else.

They wind this dude up; send him out to speak, and he makes a hypocritical fool out of himself.

But everyone else is supposed to be so bamboozled by his rhetoric that they don't even notice. (ROTFLMAO)
