Spoiled Whiney Punk Ass Americans. Stop Bitching. Gas is $9.25 / Gallon in Germany
A sign advertises gas and diesel prices at a Total station on a highway in Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany. At 1.554 euros per liter, regular gas is the equivalent of $9.25 a gallon.

Well aint that a load of apathy and complacency if I've ever seen it.
So we're supposed to wait until gas is $10 per gallon before we're outraged.
I dont need to actually taste shit to know I dont want any.
You killin' me today.
LOL.
That's funny Robyn. "Apathy and Complacency."
When we were talking about Lies about WMD's, Blind Support of Israel and the Federal Reserve System (The real reason gas prices are outrageous) .... ya'll muhfuggas was talking about "boots on the ground" in Jena.
How's that workin' out?
Now that gas is half of what it's going to be in 6 months, ya'll Sedan drivin' 'mericans feel wounded.
As if this shit wasn't predictable over a year ago.
If you pay attention to the signs of a hurricane, it's hard to be outraged when it lands. Especially if, when you saw it coming, you started preparing.
But go back to watching network television. Not everything is a conspiracy. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.
So let me get this straight, you two are okay with gas prices as they are?
Cuz you "saw it coming."
Not like the rest of us "spoiled" Americans.
Dont mind $5 gas. Hell, bring on $7 and $8, since "you can afford it."
I hope someone, particularly one of the more spoiled among the rest of us, siphons (sp) the gas from both of your cars. Twice.
Just so that your future posts will be less smug.

No.
Because at this point, being upset about gas prices is like being on the Titanic, and being upset about lunch.

Well said. Pretty much sums up the state of affairs. We are all on the Titanic. A few of us actually see the glacier, can guess what's about to happen and are figuring out what, if anything can be done to survive.
The rest of the passengers are yelling, telling us it's a vicious conspiracy rumor, there's no such thing as a glacier, while complaining how cold it all of a sudden got outside.
By now, everyone should know that, unless you have some SERIOUS cash, you are not gonna be able to keep doin' what you have been doin'.
If you want to keep profiling while you ride... you gonna have to give something else up.
Next year, we are all going to wish gas was only $5.00 a gallon again.
RoyalLD: Next year, we are all going to wish gas was only $5.00 a gallon again.
Not your boy and your girl over here.
They saw the hurricane coming and started to prepare.
They dont mind being on the Titanic as long as there is some basis for them to extol how they "knew they were on the Titanic." For years at that.
But then I probably shouldnt let them irritate me so. At least not DV. Since his entire opinion on the issue could change tomorrow.
Apparently one of the techniques of attorneys who are losing arguments is reaching attempts to characterize their opponent as opportunistic and inconsistent.
Robyn, this aint moot court and I aint your opponent.
Peep the blog, appreciate the discourse, look around. My consistency speaks for itself.
You're working hard to miss the point.
This is chess, not checkers, and you're outraged because the elite set up the sheeple for a checkmate long ago and you didn't see it coming. Now you want them to regulte themselves so you can have cheap gas.
Then what?
Food is going up. Next is water. After that will be the electricity that keeps your tv on.
Instead of hatin' on people who choreograph this shit, you're wishing that the gas out of our cars gets siphoned.
Funny to say the least.
Reaching and missing the point. Okay.
Chess not checkers. That's original.
You two have taken a position that folks who take issue with current gas prices are "spoiled, whiny, punk ass and bitchin."
Nope, youre right, no good reason beyond that to be complaining.
GTFOOH. Both of you.
"You two have taken a position that folks who take issue with current gas prices are "spoiled, whiny, punk ass and bitchin."
Actually Robyn, that's now what I meant.
That may be how you took it. Which is a legitimate interpretation.
Robyn,"taking issue with the current gas price" has nothing to do with what I meant.
What I hoped to communicate was that the current gas price is nothing compared to what it is about to be.
That $5 will soon be considered a bargain.
I'm hoping to draw a contrast between now and the near-future in an attempt to find solace in what is at face value a present problem but in reality is still a relative bargain.
Forgive a brother for abandoning the literal.
RJ - take heart in the fact that even "cash" may not be the crisis solvent and overall pain reliever that it is today - in a matter of months. Kind of like what happened in Weimar Germany.
Better have some ammunition (for currency and self-defense) and some stored food and water to defend.
Lotta high-livin folks with a current monetary safety blanket gonna be SOL when TSHTF.....,
DV when you're talking about Europe and in particular Germany you are comparing apples and oranges.
First off, most of that gas price is taxes. Something between 50% and 75%. Moreover, Germans earn more than Americans. Next, and most importantly, German do not use their cars as well have to. Germany is about the size of Montana and thus the distances home/work distances are much smaller. You don't really have the suburbs over there as you have them here. Moreover, Germany has a highly efficient and inexpensive public transportation system. Most Germans commute to work via rail and bus with commuter buses arriving at bus stops every 10 minutes or so.
Now Baden-Wuerttemberg (I've lived there for quite some time) is a small state in a small country and thus the distances to be covered there are minuscule relative to those in the US.
In sum, if Germans had to deal with the distances and public transportation infrastructure here in the US they'd be bitching like hell.
