It is`always awe inspiring to look at God given beauty.... for me, most of that awe goes down the drain when it is "man made beauty".

That ass is ridiculous! I'm not sure that hasn't been surgically enhanced. If it hasn't, more power to her.

Anonymous said...

A lil shot to the tush would do the trtick but u gotta start with something to get that. She's gotta be the most beautiful girls in the world. personality aside.

Anonymous said...

why?
i guess i'm not always clear on the double standard. if some women dress and behave this way the reaction is appall and disgust and for others, goofy grins and compliments.

and is she saying she digs beyonce in the caption? does that make her a lesbian? if this were say, shemar noting that he idolized beyonce for dating jay-z would we been as accommodating?

maybe it's just me.....

It aint just you Jasai. You pointed out yet another example of my new blog mantra -- men are just as screwed up as women.

Hasn't she been surgically enhanced ? breasts, butt, teeth..... and God knows what else!

Anonymous said...

why would anybody "do that" to their tush?

that is not going to wear as well at age 47.

-jasai

Anonymous said...

Too much booty in the pants! (Damn, too much booty in the pants!)

Anonymous said...

It likely doesnt wear well now. I have no doubt she has to special order pants.

Denmark Vesey said...

If surgery can do that to women ... it should be mandatory.

Women should be rounded up and forced to receive whatever this girl got.

LOL. Nah.

I agree with Accra. Beauty loses a little something when it's not the product of God.

The only person that thinks she is fine or hot obviously never dated a real sista of that caliber. If they did, they would immediately notice she is fake:

Look at her legs as she sit down - they are thin. That is not natural for sistas with a big behind.

Also look at the lower part of her stomach on the same picture where she is sitting down. That stomach is extremely unnatural for a sista with an apple bottom.

I wonder if a man would get as much attention by the ladies if they got chest/shoulder/bicep implants?

Anonymous said...

not to talk about the major airbrushing in effect!

giving young girls false ideas about what they should look like or what men would want them to look like!

Anonymous said...

Bingo Accra.

Note DV (even if jokingly) heralds this chick with the ridiculous, likely fake behind and the 20 inch waist.

But the contestant in the Miss Nigeria pageant (photo linked by Mike Fisher about a week ago) "needed to lose 75 pounds."

Many are afflicted.

Denmark Vesey said...

See ... Robyn,

I think ya'll have read a little too much into this ass.

First of all, I don't think it's "fake". Unusual. Yes. Fake? No. Jaw-dropping? Yes. Plastic? I doubt it.

Brother Ed, is well intentioned, but uninformed. Some skinny leg women will fool ya, bra.

Secondly, any 1 image of a black women does not represent all black women or is any sole standard of beauty.

Again, it's just an ass. A 48" ass hovering below a 22" waist, but an ass none-the-less.

All the psycho-babble extras about young girls and their 'self-image' being threatened by a photo like this, is a bit too much baggage.

Regarding last week's "Mrs. Nigeria". I didn't have a problem with the sista. My point was don't hold her up as the only acceptable example of black women while rejecting sistas lighter and more slender.

Black women come in a variety of shapes, colors and sizes. Just because 80% of them have a propensity to be large, doesn't mean the slender women have forfeited their Sista Satus.

Right Jasai?

Anonymous said...

oh don't EVEN try to drag me into that "52 fake"!

you need YOUR ass whipped!

Anonymous said...

I absolutely agree that we sistas come in all shapes and sizes. No debate there. Further, its worth noting that my only hope as far as Black men and their mates are concerned is that she be Black. She can weigh 2 pounds wet if thats what you like. I'm just glad she's a Black toothpick. ;-).

With that said, I do take issue with current mainstream beauty standards. To that end, I disagree that this photo and others of the same caliber should be dismissed as "just an ass."

Much like the "war" that you feel very strongly is being waged on self-appreciative, talented brothers, beautiful everyday women are being slowly villanized. I've decided to take on the battle for women who dont aspire to be anything depicted in television and film.

Today's "most beautiful" women, look like men. No breasts, no ass, no hips. Unless of course they are store bought. Then the rules change. Case and point right here on your blog. Any other chick with a 48" ass you would deem a morbidly obese victim of high fructose corn syrup. But I digress.

Messages are being sent, whether overtly or covertly, such that 60 your old mothers are dying in the midst of their quest perky breasts and flat tummies. More importantly, 60 year old Black mothers are dying. Something is clearly wrong here, and I dont believe we can afford to chalk things up to "just an ass."

I acknowledge that you are a male and understandably "less aware" of the messages and their impact. However, I would hate for this issue to just become appreciable when your gorgeous daughter is 13 and comes home talking about she is fat and on a diet.

Just as you urge me to look deeper, I challenge you to do the same.

Anonymous said...

you seem to want to frame the discussion as a question of "who is Black" when the real issue lies with who we/you deem as beautiful.

Denmark Vesey said...

ROFLMBAO

Ahhhhh .... she got me.

LOL

Intellectual Insurgent said...

Robyn,

Just a suggestion - frame the issue so that DV can't argue with you. Find your meme and stick to it the way he does.

Instead of all this hoo ha about what is beautiful and isn't beautiful, let's call it what it is - a war against femininity and womanhood.

See, none of the men on this blog would want to marry this woman - or most other women portrayed in a similar manner in magazines, movies and tv.

Ask these men how can a woman truly be considered beautiful or attractive if you wouldn't want her as a wife? How beautiful could she really be if he would never see her as the mother of his children?

Make them eat all the talk about family and good women. The proof is in a pudding. No man can simultaneously yack about the importance of family and women being wholesome, while considering homegirl above "beautiful".

Anonymous said...

DV,

Her behind is fake, there is no argument about that in my book. I saw her before/after photos and personally, she look a lot better in the "before" photos.

In terms of skinny legs - please show us an example of a natural female with a big behind and skinny thighs. I know of Ethiopians sistas with skinny legs/big behinds but they are not as exaggerated as what this sista implanted into her behind.

I'm with Mike Fisher on taste - I like cornbread Mississippi females and that lady he posted in Nigeria - that's the standard of beauty I use as my point of reference.

You been to places like Columbia and Brasil and think that thing actually looks good?

To each its own..

Anonymous said...

Well said Intellectual Insurgent!

As I stated before, the guys around my house would be laughing behind my back if I brought that circus show around

"ed girl got a fake booty, ha ha!" and I'm not trying to hear that...

Anonymous said...

Very well said Insurgent!!!

"I acknowledge that you are a male and understandably "less aware" of the messages and their impact. However, I would hate for this issue to just become appreciable when your gorgeous daughter is 13 and comes home talking about she is fat and on a diet."

Au Contrare Mon Frere,

I am not just a male. I am a man. Accordingly, I am acutely aware of the effect of “messages” and their impact on women.

The suggestion that big women, would have more self-esteem, if men didn’t respond to images of slim women, patronizes all women.

There are images of beautiful women all over this blog. Point to one that looks “like a boy”.

“Today's "most beautiful" women, look like men. No breasts, no ass, no hips. Unless of course they are store bought.” RJEsq

According to whom? Who told you that?

I missed that meeting. I wasn’t copied on the email that said “Today’s most beautiful women have neither breasts asses or hips.”

But look. We’re beating around the bush.

There is an obesity epidemic in this country. Teenaged girls are bigger than they’ve ever been. The fact that they have low “self-esteem” and poor “self-image” is not the fault of pictures in magazines. That’s what happens when people get fat.

I differ from the neo-psychobabble “I feel your pain” body image police, because I believe patronizing women hurts them more than telling them the truth.

If some women are waiting for men to prefer the old Star Jones over the old Halle Barry, they aint gonna never have no self-esteem.

Nah. Instead of pretending Angel Luv is unappealing, I’ll warn young women of the horrors of high fructose corn syrup.

Denmark Vesey said...

"Ask these men how can a woman truly be considered beautiful or attractive if you wouldn't want her as a wife? How beautiful could she really be if he would never see her as the mother of his children?"

Exactly ...

It never occurred to me, that the posting of this image would be interpreted as an "endorsement" or "affirmation" of this woman.

I thought this ass was an oddity. An object of curiosity.

Nah, Brother Ed.

Regarding the sister from Nigeria. Brother Fisher was playing "Race Cop".

His post implied the larger, darker Nigerian woman was somehow "more black" and more deserving of accolades than the lighter, slimmer Nigerian artist Ayo, I had chosen to highlight.

Ultimately what and who "is black" is much more of a spiritual phenomena than a contest of skin tone and thigh measurements.

And don't make me flash my International Ass Expert card, but they got ass and leg combinations like this all over the Dominican Republic.

Anonymous said...

DV: The fact that they have low “self-esteem” and poor “self-image” is not the fault of pictures in magazines. That’s what happens when people get fat.

Herein lies the rub. This is not about plain obesity. No argument from me that obesity will kill you. This is not about excusing unhealthfullness. This is about calling bullshit on a standard that says a size 8 is plus sized. A standard that caused you, whether or not you will admit it, to suggest that Ms. Nigeria needed to loss damn near 100 pounds. This is a standard that had caused designers to make jeans where the rise is literally 2 inches high. I dont know about any of the chicks in your family but my crotch is taller than 2 inches, and that has nothing to do with what I ate for lunch.

You can rationalize it all you want but yesterday's supermodel is today's woman who should be dieting. I am simply highlighting this and asking why.

I do not argue for allowing women to "let themselves go." I am simply saying that magazines are not the standard by which women should be judged. They are false images being peddled as measuring rods. I say fuck that!

Michael Fisher said...

I wasn't "playing race cop", DV, I was making a point about male homo-eroticism. Ayo, who is German, by the way, looks like a pretty boy body-wise.

Anonymous said...

DV, I can do an objective physical exam to determine if Ms. Luv has had any surgical intervention. Just have her call me at the hospital later today to schedule an appointment.

Denmark Vesey said...

LOL ...

I feel you Mariner.

I'll text Angel your info after you send it to me.

Wrong again Brother Fish.

The youngest of three children, Ayo was born in Nigeria to a Nigerian father and a Romanian mother.

They, like millions of Africans, moved to Europe when she was a child.

She's probably more 'black' than you.

And if you think Ayo "looks" like a boy, you know some soft phat ass boys.

Anonymous said...

I'm not feeling her at all, nor all the 'to-do' about her back side.

She is not some super fine actress or singer. She has yet to display a real talent. Her facial expressions are slutty and porn looking, not that of even a super fine model.

In my opinion, she is nothing more than a modern day Hottentot. Magazines and music videos are to our culture what sideshow attractions were to 19th century Europe.

Anonymous said...

Oh. I think the Beyonce comment was some kinda roundabout dis.

Like "Yeah, Beyonce's cute and all, but she's really not on my level. I'm trying to do bigger and better things like the men out here, like Jay-Z." Is what she would've said if she really wanted it with Bey.

I'm surprised DV and J let that feminist crap slip by em, but CNulan did inform us that "men with higher levels of testosterone are more likely to make irrational decisions when shown sexual images...,"

Anonymous said...

LOL Kalena @ that last sentence. bring the truth or go home!

cus you know this chick is from dc. i know it makes you mad that you left. i wonder if they make them like that over on that other coast? lol

smoke and mirrors. her background story and her "background"

Denmark Vesey said...

Kalena you funny. Jasai ... you got it in for me.

Nah nah nah ...

Both of you got it twisted.

Testosterone or not ... How me or Big J look walking around with Ms. FucMeLike I. StoleSummin'?

You know good and damn well Angel Luv has not been awarded the coveted Denmark Vesey Most Beautiful Woman Award.

She might win the Denmark Vesey Most Ridiculous Ass On The Planet Award ... but not the Denmark Vesey Most Beautiful Woman Award.

But, let's not beat around the bush.

If we dissect the knee-jerk hostility by some of the sistas on the blog towards this young girl - would we discover a classic case of "Ass Envy"?

"It's fake!"

"It's plastic!"

"Look what she said about Beyonce!"

"Her legs too thin!"

"This is why large girls have self-esteem issues!"

"Helll Naaaaa"

Ya'll hatin' like Big J in a room with Fiddy and Snoop Dogg.

What's up with that? Why do you ladies have your fists balled up and your lips poked out at little Ms. 34-22-48?

Maybe ol' girl is just blessed.

Anonymous said...

Come on.

You've seen me.

Envious of her ass.

Okay.

Anonymous said...

DV,

I see you got jokes. I'm definitely not envy. She is just a tool. Someone man-made her for the hip-hop industry, that's all she is and all she will ever be.

Most brotha can pay $$$ to put a 48 inch fake behind on some skinny chick, the thing is they don't care to..no envy for the commodity..

Denmark Vesey said...

RJEsq said... "Come on. You've seen me. Envious of her ass. Okay."

Okay.

Well. Everybody except Big Ass Robyn.

Anonymous said...

hahahaha DV you need to ask about me!

Besides, why would i be envious of Miss-How-me or Big J look walking around with Ms. FucMeLike I. StoleSummin'? (although hilarious!)

Why is the sista given the title of Ms. Right Now the one who has the fattest ass? Really, is that what the criteria has been reduced to?

I don't really buy into that fake or real stuff, cause i couldn't care less. The end result is the same:

The big booty is on the front of magazines telling all the teenage girls if you want the attention of men you idolize (um, Mister Jay-Z) then (1) always pose with your glossy lips open, (2) don't say anything sincerely positive about other women, especially those that may also be getting that attention YOU want, and (3) put your ass on display like your name was Saartjie Baartman.

I'm not feeling the chick nor what she represents. No ass envy here, cause all a fat ass (alone) gets you is phucked.

Denmark Vesey said...

Ummm Umm Umm. Kalena.

Aight. You win. I gotta give it up.

I can't argue with none of that.

Ya'll should form an organization.

"Sistas With Big Asses Who Know How To Act."

Yeah. Ol girl is a bit too much.

But power to her.

(I'm glad I didn't catch her when I was in my twenties, because they would have had to call the police to get me off that woman.)

I would've have been like a starving pitbull in a room with a giant pork chop.

Anonymous said...

DV, somehow you didnt strike me as an ass man.

"AYO is a German born artist, the offspring of a Nigerian father who had come to Germany to study in the 1970s, and sometimes worked as a DJ, and a mother who is a gypsy. AYOs rather unusual name means joy in Yoruba. Her rich cultural background is also reflected in her musical influences. She grew up amidst Pink Floyd and Fela Kuti, the Soul Children and Bob Marley, and many others."

From Ayo Myspace Site. I probably know her father. Got to check into it.

Denmark Vesey said...

Yeah Mike, I understand Germany was your stomping ground.

Your position is not that Ayo is any "less black" than the Nigerian beauty contestant is it?

Anonymous said...

Ditto Kalena 4:29pm

Michael Fisher said...

DV...

"Your position is not that Ayo is any 'less black' than the Nigerian beauty contestant is it?"

No, of course not.

I was just agreeing with, was it Ed?, about who the media white folks like to push, and the homo-erotic thing they got going.

I think I'm going to do a special post or series on black folks in Europe, specifically in Germany.

These German black kids are literally going insane.

Most of them have white mothers and absent black fathers or when the have the black parent around are constantly bombarded with the "liberal" variety of racism and get all disoriented. Especially the females who tend to get "preferential" treatment as opposed to the males.
