Frankly, I don't have a problem with this project. We buy gear from the Gap anyway, and if the exposure helped the participants secure other gigs, it's all good.

I feel you Denise.

It certainly is a feel good joint.

It's just something about the soulfulness of Bill Whithers and the spirit of the song being used to sell khakis made in China for pennies on the dollar while making some corporation like "Gap" rich rubs me the wrong way.

But I aint gonna lie. When the commercial comes on, I'm singing at the top of my lungs, clapping my hands and stomping my feet just like everybody else.

gap has some slick marketing stuff that sometimes seems to kinda betray their own interest (but i don't think they think people are clever enough at times to peep it).

years ago, i remember walking past a gap and hanging in its window was a 'sculpture' of a barcode painted to resemble an american flag. i had to stand there and think about that for a second.
