FORBES MAGAZINES #1 MOST POWERFUL WOMAN

It's nearly comical the way conformists buy into the most ridiculous notions when delivered to them as "news". Here Forbes attempts to anoint a glorified servant - "the most powerful woman in the world".
Yeah. Condi is so powerful. Right. Barbara Boxer berates her in front of Congress, and damn near blames her personally for the entire Iraq War including 3,000 dead American soldiers.
All she could do is sit there looking stupid as she muttered nonsensical apologies to the dead soldier's families.
Meanwhile the NeoCons who actually engineered this war are nowhere to be seen but Condi's job is to run meaningless diplomatic errands and represent a US Foreign policy crafted by Israeli Lobbyists.
FORBES MAGAZINE:
"She is the first African-American woman to become the U.S. secretary of state. She advises the leader of the world's largest superpower and has an unparalleled level of trust with and access to the president. And she has served two other U.S. presidents, George H.W. Bush and Ronald Reagan. For all of these reasons, and more, Rice, 50, is the most powerful woman in the world."

Quit hatin'!. You may not agree with her politics, but you cannot deny her success. Her job will exist whether she holds the position or not. Based thereon, I'm glad she's Sec of State. Stop blaming her personally for the policies of the Bush admin and give the chick her due. She's still a Black woman.
OK Robyn. Cool. You’ve got a deal.
I'll quit hatin' if you agree to elevate the discourse.
1) You will abandon the notion that my comments are in any way a personal attack on Ms. Rice, and consider the possibility that my comments are in actuality an attack upon the absurd notion that one's "job" can make them powerful.
2) On my part I will acknowledge that Condoleezza is in fact a “black woman” and deserves credit for being able to keep her job as steward of the greatest foreign policy blunder in American History. Little black girls all around the country should be encouraged to grow up to be just like the #1 Most Powerful Woman In The World – Condoleezza.
Jobs don’t make people powerful. Jobs make people employees.
I'm quite busy today, so the reply will be brief and jump straight to the heart of why I think Rice often gets a raw deal.
DV: "...steward of the greatest foreign policy blunder in American History. Little black girls all around the country should be encouraged to grow up to be just like the #1 Most Powerful Woman In The World – Condoleezza."
Robyn: what little Black girls will see, is that they too can be Secretary of State. The specifics of the foreign policy issue of the minute will fall way.
Rice, gets props in my book on that basis alone.
I feel you Robyn. And I really hate being so hard on the sista. After all, how many black female Secretaries of State have there been?
However, it simply defies reason to refer to Condoleezza Rice as "successful". Is merely "getting" the job the measure of success for our people?
Is our collective sense of expectation that low?
This is the woman who just sat in front of Congress and asked to send more troops, more young black men and women, into Iraq to risk their lives for Haliburton.
I see that as the inherent danger of identity politics. It encourages people to pursue 'group scorecard' victories that ultimately have no value at all.
Would an appointment as Navigator of the Titanic, 30 minutes after it hit the iceberg, be considered an accomplishment?
I don't think Condoleezza is improving the perception of black women around the world.
I think she is being used to lend the soulful face of black female moral and spiritual authority to a wicked and evil NeoCon agenda that is responsible for killing hundreds of thousands of brown women around the world.
Job my ass. Condoleezza is being pimped.
Condi is a puppet. She runs the day-to-day stuff, but her influence is overridden by Cheney and the neocons, who you quite notably point out have taken NO blame for the war.
