all saw the self-celebration that was transpiring in Washington DC and noted how little attention was being paid to the flooding from Hurricane Irene in Haiti, DR,Jamaica and the Bahamas so they blew a collective breath and guided the Hurricane up the eastern seaboard - forcing Negroes that have lost their consciousness to have to pay the travel change fees to their airlines.
King weeps from his grave. He never confused substance with symbolism. He never conflated a flesh and blood sacrifice with a stone and mortar edifice. We rightly celebrate his substance and sacrifice because he loved us all so deeply. Let us not remain satisfied with symbolism because we too often fear the challenge he embraced.-- Cornel West
I think our Esteemed Ancestor’s tears came today in the form of Irene. The hypocrisy of the planned celebration was obviously too much for his soul to bear this weekend. There is no doubt that he will continue to weep until justice becomes a tsunami which smashes the oligarchic psychopathocracy into oblivion.
Only if it goes straight down Pennsylvania Avenue and then veers towards Wall Street.
