It is the same kind of resenment that many white men have for minorities who possess more than they could ever dream of ... he is sitting there thinking that everything that those two darkies got, was given to them.
Never mind that he had the chance to go to a better school and prolly got his job as a result of white privliege. He, as is most of white america, when you get down to it, aren't really ready for minorities in their neighborhoods ... even if they see it as inevitable.
